With a highly anticipated new album getting released this year, Perturbator is set to be the next big thing since slices SPAM. Not only does Pert have a strong internet presence, but Perturbator now looks to take over other realms with his sound! A beast in the making.
4. FM ATTACK
BEST KNOWN FOR
FM Attack recently announced he will be calling it quits after his last retro inspired album. Sad news, but this guy has paved the way for many of the new musicians in this scene. Consistent and solid in sound, FM Attack’s original sounds makes him a deadly force. Not to add that he also sells 10K+ in albums. BEAST!
3. MIAMI NIGHTS 1984
BEST KNOWN FOR
Miami Nights 1984 is one of the few artists who has actually received a notable publication (Rolling Stone Magazine) and has actually worked with a Grammy nominated artist (Gotye). His uplifting retro bliss synths are one of the most authentic 80’s feel to the scene. Miami Nights 1984 promises to give us his best work yet this year when he releases his new album!!
2. LAZERHAWK
BEST KNOWN FOR
Lazerhawk is one of the few artists with a dominant internet presence in this retro scene. All if not most of his videos quickly surpass 10K and keep climbing monthly due to the heavy demand for his sound. No-one else in the scene has this kind of lockdown. NOONE!! Not to mention that Lazerhawk has an exquisite talent for authentic synthwave driven horrorcore, and dreamwave hits. Gheeese! This guy OWNS!!
1. POWER GLOVE
BEST KNOWN FOR
Power Glove are literally the pioneers of this Synthwave Genre. Not only did they inspire Lazerhawk to begin his conquest in this genre, but they have the most TV, media and online publications to date. Featuring in major TV shows such as “Key and Peele” and major game soundtracks for “Farcry 3: Blood Dragon”, as well as the IGN gaming site, these guys are literally putting the retro scene on the map, at a MAJOR level. If a major/ independent label want to sign you, better thank these moguls for their efforts in getting this scene exposure!!!

Glad Power Glove was number 1 since they're the ones that introduced me to the genre (Hunters from "hobo with a shotgun").
Thank you for making a great list. You have done a difficult job congratulations. I hope that the new retro scene remain the way it is. I fear that the greater the exposure to lead to greater commercialization and diminish the quality of the music.
this list is just god damn perfect. seriously. I've noticed these five to be my top choices as well.
