Technophobia drops new album ‘Some of Us Are Looking at the Stars’

Washington, DC-based duo Technophobia is back on the scene with a brand new record out! Titled Some of Us are Looking at the Stars, this sophomore record follows up and expands on the old-school Darkwave and Industrial sounds that made 2016’s Flicker Out as standout release on the Retro Synth music scene. Dramatic and gripping, the album is fine-tuned to satiate the craving for gated drum beats and retrofuturistic synth ambiences born from Mute Records’ electro-punk revolution.

Aside from their musical output, Technophobia also operate their own nonprofit label Working Order Records, self-releasing albums and hosting benefit shows for local charities.

“We are working to bridge the gap between musician ideology and social impact. Our operating model aligns with our belief that music is inextricably linked with the potential for positive change. WOR facilitates fundraising/advocacy campaigns on behalf of different community-based charitable organizations. We partner with musical artists to leverage their music and popularity to advocate and fundraise on behalf of one of our partner charities. Each campaign we launch is unique in that it is always with a different charity and with various musicians. The Working Order Records mantra is Music -Vinyl – Impact -Change.”
