Irving Force – The Violence Suppressor EP

I spoke to some dude on twitter a little while ago who described Irving Force as being, “Too extreme and Black Metal” for his tastes. I found this comment insanely confusing as I wasn’t aware that Adam Skog (Aka Irving Force) was off burning down churches or devouring the souls of children. I mean, has this guy even heard Irving Force?

Demon City Shinjuku (1988)

Based on the novel by Hideyuki Kikuchi and adapted into the now famous 1988 OVA of the same name. Most of you may remember Demon City Shinjuku as one of the first animes to be viewed on the just launched Sci-fi network way back in the 90s. Others may remember seeing bits of the opening fight scene in the cyberpunk film Johnny Mnemonic (1995). If you are neither of said groups then sit down and pay attention to one of the classics of anime, before cat ears and otakus candy coated the genre.

Power Glove – EP2

April 30th saw the release of Power Gloves eagerly anticipated follow up to their 2013 debut, EP1.  The new album wastes no time in picking up from where the Australian duo left off and begins to dig deeper into the dark and mysterious soundscape as heard in their previous work. This time around the guys begin to explore some new territory, taking us on a journey through the seedier back streets of their creativity.

Echo City by Kaleido Drive

This is a debut album that has a very distinct musical identity and sounds like it could have been made by someone working within the scene for years.  With some beautiful artwork and really exciting songs I definitely recommend it.

Prayer of the Rollerboys (1990)

This movie might as well had been a sequel to Troma’s “Surf Nazi’s Must Die”. A post apocalyptic Los Angeles after some kind of Alex Jones’ type economical collapse. The city is overrun with crime and junky trash. Only difference between this film and that one is, instead of the nazi’s fighting for control of the waves, the rollerboys are waging war on the streets… wearing rollerblades.

FM-84 – Los Angeles EP

Despite coming to this EP with low expectations, having heards hundreds of takes on the whole LA, synth city theme with varying degrees of success, I was pleasantly surprised. The tracks are expertly, expertly produced with slick synths that perfecly coallesce.
