FacexHugger – A L I E N A T E

A L I E N A T E by FacexHugger

Although it was released back in February of this year – what feels like a lifetime ago now –  it would be indefensible to ignore FacexHugger’s latest brilliant album, “A L I E N A T E.”

This album continues FacexHugger’s tradition of intense sci-fi based cinematic darksynth with a range of new synth sounds and a much more multifaceted feel, ramping up the scale on production and length to make “A L I E N A T E” perhaps his best work yet.

However, the true genius of “A L I E N A T E” lies within it’s context. The description on bandcamp says it all:
” This album is dedicated to my estranged daughter Haven.
These songs were made in a state of sorrow and hopelessness but the end result has been very cathartic. Parental alienation is a very real thing and it is currently what I’ve been going through. This music has helped me find the strength to fight back against it and not let myself succumb to what has been a very difficult situation.”

Truly, FacexHugger has taken raw emotion and, in a smelter of pain and creativity, reduced it down to a brilliant sonic essence. The hopelessness and despair on this album bleeds through true like a hand being placed upon a radio antennae to clear the signal. It feels personal because it is personal – and that is the very best we can ask of any artist.
