CREEPSHOW is coming back to life and headed to SHUDDER

Greg Nicotero is bringing back one of our favorite Horror anthologies to the small screen. Creepshow the collaboration originally spawned by George Romero and Stephen King the gave us the chills at the cinemas was a clear precursor to the idea of the Horror Anthology to audiences. Inspired by the early pre-code EC COMICS titles that were deemed too inappropriate for children and gate ways into criminality and drug abuse. Titles such as Vault of Horror, Tales from the Crypt and Crime. Tales from the Crypt was probably the first adaptation to the big screen with its own very well remember and executed film of the same name that premiered in the 1970’s. However, Creepshow was unique because of its pulpy use of horror and dark comedy.

SHUDDER is a streaming service owned by AMC that allows its subscribers to stream copious amounts of HORROR and Thriller titles for a set price. Creepshow will be executive produce and supervise the direction of the show. It is stated that he will direct but, like most series he will probably only direct one episode and out source some episodes to other directors of the genre.

The new series is set to debut in 2019. Each episode will be original.
