Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream founder is Dead at 70

Edgar Froese has died today from a pulmonary embolism. This is extremely sad news as Tangerine Dream has been such a HUGE inspiration to many of the artists in this emerging Retrowave scene. It was an unexpected and very sudden death that no one could have imagined.

Edgar Froese has died this week from a pulmonary embolism. This is extremely sad news as Tangerine Dream has been such a HUGE inspiration to many of the artists in this emerging Retrowave scene. It was an unexpected and very sudden death that no one could have imagined.

This note was taken from the bands Facebook Website:

“Dear Friends,

This is a message to you we are deeply sorry for…
On January 20th, Tuesday afternoon, Edgar Froese suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from the effects of a pulmonary embolism in Vienna.
The sadness in our hearts is immensely.

Edgar once said: “There is no death, there is just a change of our cosmic address.”

Edgar, this is a little comfort to us. “

Our thoughts go out to Edgar’s loved ones. R.I.P. Edgar Froese. Listen to some of his greatest compositions below and keep Edgar alive in your hearts.
