Trevor Something – Escape EP

Florida based king of hiding his face (and pretty much every other detail about himself) Trevor Something is back with another stunning EP, “Escape.” This release that continues to bend genres, merging indie, chillwave, vaporwave, lo-fi, and an arthouse feel with some R&B vocals to top off the whole amazing mess.

Sonically, “Escape EP” sounds pretty spot on how the album cover looks. A grand virtuosity hidden behind layers of lo-fi disorder. This becomes especially apparent as Something’s vocals take the forefront later in the EP, providing a beautiful counterpoint to the bleary dreamlike haze of mellow synths. As his vocals cut through, the real genius of the release become palatable, similar to “You’re Always Right” from his earlier release “Die With You.”
