For those of you who grew up with Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Russel Protector 101 delivers a muscular sound of menacing synthwave. A neon street full of danger and excitement. A crimson highway racing chrome bumper to chrome bumber, riding in an open top-car speeding through a maze of concrete roads lifted to the sky a few hundred meters away. You could almost mistake the road for the horizon.
Relayed in a newly learned language, a dazzling incoherence of freshly formed sounds that sounds at once like the old and the new.
Histories of synths newly discovered like secrets, in aspiration to take things further with the sound. Like a swimmer edging towards the surface, anticipation, a gritty grinding bassline wobbles and churns through the song. A little “TRON”, a little “Terminator” a whole lot of synth perfection.
